Our SoundEar Pro is a custom-moulded earplug that combines 30dB of hearing protection with premium audio. Building on the widely acclaimed SoundEar by Ultimate Ear, this upgraded version features dual balanced armature drivers for enhanced bass and a more detailed overall sound.

Designed specifically for use with motorcycle intercom systems, the SoundEar Pro connects via a 3.5mm jack, delivering clear, direct audio whilst significantly reducing wind and engine noise.

Delivery & Lead Time

Our standard lead time is approximately 3 weeks from receipt of your ear impressions, but this can be up to 4 weeks during very busy periods.

We also offer a 4 working day express turnaround for an additional £50, if you need your order urgently. This is 4 working days from receipt of your ear impressions to despatch of your order.

We use a next day tracked Royal Mail service for all U.K orders except for some accessories which are sent using Royal Mail 48.

International orders are posted via courier. If you have any specific requests regarding the courier company you’d like us to use, please contact us.
Adjustments & Returns

If you receive your earplugs and are unhappy with the fit or comfort, simply let us know within 30 days of receiving your order and we can make the necessary adjustments free of charge.

If we are unable to rectify the issue after 2 adjustments, we can manufacture a new set of earplugs free of charge, if you supply a new set of ear impressions.

We unfortunately do not offer refunds as all our products are completely bespoke.
Ear Impressions & Ordering Process

If you require ear impressions, simply select ‘arrange an appointment for me’ when ordering above.

Once you have placed an order with us our team will be in touch to organise your ear impression appointment at one of our impression taking partners.

We have over 300 UK ear impression taking locations across the UK (£30 to £50) or you can visit us at our offices in Petts Wood, Kent (£30) or at one of our events.

We can now also offer a home visit service (£50) upon special request. This may be helpful if you are looking for swimming earplugs for your children, as lots of audiology clinics do not offer impressions for those aged 18 or under.

Our Motorcyclist SoundEar Pro is a high-performance upgrade, combining 30dB (SNR) hearing protection with premium dual balanced armature drivers for a richer, more detailed listening experience than our standard SoundEar. Designed specifically for riders, these custom motorcycle earplugs with audio deliver exceptional clarity whilst significantly reducing harmful wind and engine noise.

Ideal for use with motorcycle intercom systems, the SoundEar Pro features a 3.5mm jack connection, allowing it to plug directly into popular systems such as the Cardo Packtalk Bold and Sena 50S. By replacing traditional helmet-mounted speakers, these earphones deliver clearer, more direct audio, even at higher speeds where wind noise would typically interfere.

The SoundEar Pro is also a versatile option for riders who prefer to connect directly to a smartphone, SatNav, or MP3 player, making it a complete solution for motorbike audio and hearing protection.

With a slim, low-profile design, these custom earplugs fit comfortably under any motorcycle helmet. Due to the dual driver setup, they are slightly bulkier than the standard SoundEar, but still engineered for a secure and comfortable fit during long rides. Each pair is custom-moulded from ultra-soft, medical-grade silicone, ensuring maximum comfort, durability, and a precise seal for optimal noise reduction.

Material

Unique to Ultimate and our SoundEar range, these earplugs are constructed of two different compounds of silicone. We utilise a 40-shore silicone for the main body of the earplugs, combining comfort with adequate strength in order to protect and secure the main components within the earplugs. The ear canal section is manufactured using a clear ultra-soft 25-shore silicone earplug to provide unmatched comfort and flexibility for genuine sustained use.

Cable Specifications

Our cables are polyurethane coated which stops the cable reacting to sweat (causing it to go brittle). Kevlar coated strands make our cable extremely durable and we also utilise a four-point anchor system for added strength. The cable exit is correct out of the earplugs, preventing any snagging issues.

Cable and Connector Options

Our standard cable is 50cm and is supplied with an in-line 3.5mm connector. This is what we would recommend for use with any intercom system.

The 2-part cable is our standard 50cm cable supplied with a 90cm extension cable which has a right-angled 3.5mm connector. This offers added flexibility, particularly for use off the bike.

How does the process work with ordering and obtaining ear impressions?

You can place an order online, over the phone (by calling us on 01689 876885) or by visiting us at one of the events which we attend.

If you are placing an order online and you do not have ear impressions already, simply select ‘arrange an appointment for me’ under the ear impressions option.

Our team will then be in touch to organise an ear impression appointment for you at one of our 300+ partner ear impression taking locations (additional cost of approximately £40 payable directly to the audiologist).

If you already ordered from us previously (since the start of January 2022) we will have your ear impressions on file (digital copy) and there is no need to post your physical impressions back into us. Simply select ‘I already have ear impressions’ when ordering online and we will match your order details to your existing ear impressions (via your name and email/phone number) which we have on file.

What is the lifespan of your earplugs?

We recommend replacing all of our earplugs with new impressions every 5 years due to the human ear growing and changing shape within this timeframe.

Our SoundEar range is fully serviceable and repairable so if any components fail within this timeframe we can offer a repair service.

Can I still hear traffic and important sounds whilst wearing your earplugs?

Yes, our custom motorcycling earplugs are designed to reduce excessive wind noise rather completely isolate you from your surroundings.

What is the difference between the SoundEar and the SoundEar Pro?

The Pro version benefits from dual balanced armature drivers rather than a single balanced armature speaker (as per the standard SoundEar), resulting in a far punchier bass and a more detailed listening experience overall.

The attenuation, materials and cable design is the same for both models.

Is your SoundEar range serviceable and repairable?

Yes, we offer a 1-year warranty (against any manufacturing faults) but we also offer a repair service outside of this period.

In many cases we can replace individual components such as a speaker or the cable.

If a repair is not economical, we will always offer a discount on a completely new set.

Which devices or intercoms are compatible with the SoundEar and SoundEar Pro?

Our SoundEar and SoundEar Pro are supplied with a standard 3.5mm jack connector and are therefore compatible with many intercom systems.

This includes:

Almost all Cardo systems
Many SENA systems (adapters or modifications may be required)
Other helmet communication systems with 3.5mm outputs
Phones and music devices (with use of adapters)

Audio quality wise, the sound produced by the SoundEar Pro is well beyond what a bluetooth headset can produce, it's loud enough to be able to keep my volume turned way down and still hear what I want, it's not a tinny or hollow sound like some ear plugs, and I've been able to listed for 6 hours straight without ear pain or fatigue from the drivers

Place your order

Choose your Ultimate product and place your order online or by phone. If you need impressions, select 'arrange an appointment for me'. If you already have valid impressions, choose 'I have ear impressions'.

Ear impressions

After purchase, we'll help arrange your ear impressions with one of our UK audiology partners or at our Kent headquarters if required.

Send them in

Post your impressions to our manufacturing HQ in Kent with your order number and contact details. If you have ordered from us previously we will have your digital impressions on file already.

Manufacturing

We manufacture and dispatch most orders within 3 weeks, with an optional 4-day express turnaround available for an additional £50.

Ordering for a business or group?

We offer a site visit service (for the ear impressions) and bulk order discounts for businesses or groups.
